“Al-Haramein (Makkah al-Mukarramah and al-Madina al-Munawara) during the Ottoman Period” opened by IRCICA jointly with Kuwaiti National Council for Culture, Art and Letters, 20 Dec. 2016-11 Feb. 2017

IRCICA and the Kuwaiti National Council for Culture, Art and Letters jointly organized an exhibition of historical photographs on “Al-Haramein (Makkah al-Mukarramah and al-Madina al-Munawara) during the Ottoman Period” which is being held at the Museum Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyya, Kuwait City. The exhibiton was opened on 20 December 2016, in the presence of IRCICA Director General Dr. Halit Eren, the Secretary General of the Kuwaiti National Council for Culture, Art and Letters Mr. Ali Hussain al-Yuha, the Ambassador of Turkey in Kuwait Amb. Salih Murat Tamer, and representatives from cultural and educational institutions of Kuwait. The exhibition will remain open for visits until 11 February 2017. The photographs on display were selected from the albums of Sultan Abdulhamid II dating from the end of the 19th-early 20th centuries and IRCICA’s archives.
