The international symposium, “From Islamic Peace to Zionist Occupation: Palestine, Gaza, Al-Quds” was organized by IRCICA and Esenler Municipality (Istanbul) on 23 December 2023. Scholars from various universities and specialists of the subject presented papers in the symposium, where the session themes were: “Palestine and Al-Quds in the Heavenly Religions”; “Palestine and Al-Quds in Medieval Islamic History”; “Palestine and Al-Quds in Ottoman History”; “Palestine and Al-Quds under Zionist Occupation”; “Palestine and Al-Quds in Literature, Art and Architecture”. The last, Special Session of the symposium was addressed by the Governor of Istanbul Mr. Davut Gül, Istanbul Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Prof. Coşkun Yılmaz, and IRCICA’s Head of Research and Publications Prof. Cengiz Tomar. Another contribution by IRCICA was the presentation of Arch. Eng. Hussein Alragabi on the sustainability of cultural heritage in Palestine.
