The International Conference themed “Reassessing the Heritage of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi”, organized by the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Aziret Sultan”, Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and IRCICA, was conducted in Turkistan, Kazakhstan on 10-11 October 2023. The opening ceremony heard the remarks of Mr. Maulen Sadykbekov, Director of the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve “Aziret Sultan”, followed by the speeches delivered by Prof. Cengiz Tomar (Head of Research and Publications, IRCICA) on behalf of IRCICA Director General Prof. Mahmud Erol Kılıç; and Mr. Darkhan Satybaldy, Governor of the Turkistan Region. The working sessions received papers by scholars and researchers participating from various countries in Asia and Europe, around the following session themes: Session 1. Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and Turkic History; Session 2. Khoja Ahmed Yasawi: Literature and Culture of the Turkic Peoples; Session 3. Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and the Sufi Worldview; Session 4. Legacy of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. The historians participating from IRCICA also presented papers; Professor Cengiz Tomar, on “The Age of Ahmed Yasawi: Karakhanids and Islam” and Professor Ashirbek Muminov (Consultant for Organizational Activities, Central Asia) on “Development of the Sacred Genealogy of the Khans and Cultural Policy in the Kokand Khanate (1811–1876)”.
