IRCICA Delegation composed of Ambassador Prof. Mahmud Erol Kılıç, Director General, and Prof. Ashirbek Muminov, Consultant for Central Asian Studies, participated in the international conference on “Masterpieces of the Eastern Manuscript Heritage in Projects of the World Society” which was organized by the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Beruni Institute of Oriental Studies and the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan with IRCICA and Mueller & Schindler as collaborators. The conference was held on 6 November 2023 within the framework of the 7th Congress of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan (Samarkand, 5-8 November 2023). Director General Prof. Kılıç addressed the opening session of the conference, together with Prof. Bahrom Abdukhalimov, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Beruni; Prof. Shahin Mustafayev, President of the International Turkic Academy; Prof. Irina Popova, Director of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences. During the working session of the conference, Prof. Ashirbek Muminov presented a research paper titled “Studies on the Qur’an Uthman in Kazakhstan during the Soviet Era”. The next day, Prof. Mahmud Erol Kılıç and the Chairman of the Board of the World Society Dr. Firdavs Abdukhalikov signed an MOU for Cooperation in the field of studies on cultural heritage between the two institutions.
