“Islam A Religion of Peace and Goodness” International Conference convened by the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan: IRCICA’s presentations

The International Conference on “Islam A Religion of Peace and Goodness” convened by the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Tashkent and Khiva on 15-16 Oct. 2024, was moderated by Dr. Shoazim Minovarov, Advisor, Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, and opened with the Welcoming Remarks of Mr. Muzaffar Kamilov, Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan on Cooperation with Public and Religious Organizations. The Plenary Session moderated by Prof. Bahrom Abduhalimov, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was addressed by academicians and institutional representatives from different countries. The address of IRCICA Director General Prof. Mahmud Erol Kılıç was read by Prof. Cengiz Tomar, Head of Research and Publications. The working sessions of the conference were titled “The essence of Hanafi-Maturidi teachings in preserving Islamic values”; “Islam in the context of globalization: moderation and tolerance”; “Factors and practical solutions for countering ideological threats in modern society”.
