IRCICA and the Ministry of Culture and Cognitive Development of Libya have jointly organized the workshop titled “Restoration of Historical Monuments in Tripoli, Libya”, which was conducted in Tripoli from 6 to 9 October 2024. Combining theoretical knowledge with practical on-site observations, the intensive program addressed a variety of topics from conservation theory and project preparation processes to applied restoration techniques and sustainable approaches to heritage management. Field visits were made to important monuments in Tripoli and its surroundings, with emphases on the importance of the relationship between theory and practice. The workshop program was productive in terms of sharing experiences among experts and institutions from Libya and Türkiye working in the field of cultural heritage preservation.
