A cooperation agreement was signed at an online ceremony on 12 July 2024 between IRCICA Director General Prof. Mahmud Erol Kılıç on one hand, and on the other, Dr. Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, Acting Managing Director, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation; Dr. Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Rector of Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University; Prof. Madya Dr. Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani, Ra’es, Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, towards jointly organizing the Brunei Darussalam International Islamic Calligraphy Festival 2024 to be held in October 2024. The ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs of Brunei Darussalam, Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, an attended by Prof. Hamit Ersoy, Ambassador of Türkiye in Brunei Darussalam. The festival will include an international calligraphy forum, workshops of calligraphy and illumination, an exhibition, a spontaneous competition, and the finalization of the joint “IRCICA Regional Competition of Calligraphy in Asia 2024” that was launched in March 2024.
