A training program on “The Importance of Oriental Manuscripts in Conducting Research in the Field of Islamic Studies” was organized by IRCICA and the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan on 25-26 May 2022 at IRCICA’s headquarters in Istanbul. Five faculty members – professors, associate professors, and assistant professors (Dr. Rakhimdjanov Durbek Abidjanovich, Dr. Yusupova Nigora Jaloliddin kizi, Dr. Khakimova Nigora Alisherovna, Dr. Okilov Saidmukhtor Saidakbarovich, Dr. Tuychieva Nilufar Makhsutjanovna) and three MA students (Mr. Ruziev Toir Bobanazarovich, Mr. Abdullaev Fozil Rakhimovich, Mr. Saydakbarov Khalilullokh Saidmukhtor ugli) from universities in Uzbekistan, participated in the program. The program, moderated by Prof. Dr. Sadık Ünay and Prof. Dr. Ashirbek Muminov, was supplemented by study visits to IRCICA Library and Archives and to the historical Süleymaniye Library.

Lecture 2: Conducting Research in the Ottoman Archives (Prof. Dr. Fazıl Bayat, Senior Researcher, IRCICA)
Lecture 3: Manuscripts of “Shamail al-Nabi” by al-Imam al-Tirmidhi (Mr. Mehmet Serdar Bekar, Senior Researcher, IRCICA)
Lecture 4: Research Project “Catalogue of the Works by Ibn Sina” (Mr. Veysel Bulut, Senior Researcher, IRCICA)
Lecture 5: Critical Edition of “Wafiyat al-Aslaf” by Shihab al-Din al-Marjani (Prof. Najat Khalil, Senior Researcher, IRCICA).
Lecture 6: Islamic Architecture (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arch. Alidost Ertugrul, Head of the Architectural Heritage Department of IRCICA)
Lecture 7: Islamic Calligraphy (Mr. Ferhat Kurlu, Master Calligrapher)
Lecture 8: Islamic Culture in Africa (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aboubacar Abdullah Senghore, Assistant Director General, IRCICA)
The program was finalized with the Concluding Address of Ambassador Prof. Dr. Mahmud Erol Kılıç, IRCICA Director General. Certificates were presented to the participants.
