An exhibition of award-winning plates in different rounds of the IRCICA International Calligraphy Competition was organized in Manama, Bahrain on 22-29 April 2024, in cooperation with the University of Bahrain and the Turkish Cultural Institute Yunus Emre, with the collaboration of the Turkish Embassy in Manama. The opening ceremony was attended by the Rector of the University of Bahrain Prof. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, the Ambassador of Türkiye in Manama Ms. Esin Çakıl, the Coordinator of Yunus Emre Institute in Manama Ms. Şükran Yılmaz, in the presence of a large audience. Following the opening speeches, the Calligrapher Mr. Efdaluddin Kılıç, who teaches in IRCICA’s weekly online courses, gave a lecture on the art of Islamic calligraphy. Mr. Said Kasımoğlu, Chief of the Arts and Handicrafts Section at IRCICA, informed the visitors on IRCICA’s activities relating to Islamic arts, calligraphy in particular.
