IRCICA Director General, Ambassador Prof. Mahmud Erol Kılıç paid a visit to the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman in Ankara, Ambassador Saif Al-Jahwari, on 25 June 2024. The meeting examined the possibilities of further intensifying cultural and academic cooperation between Oman and IRCICA.
In the past, IRCICA and the National Archives of the Sultanate of Oman organized several activities including a seminar on “Oman in the Ottoman Archives” held at IRCICA, the 4th IRCICA-CASS (Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) congress on “China and the Muslim World: Cultural Encounters” held in Muscat, Oman, and the congress on “History of Islamic Civilization in East Africa” conducted in cooperation with the State University of Zanzibar, in Zanzibar, Tanzania. Furthermore, two editions of the “Muscat International Festival for Heritage, Crafts and Creativity” were organized by IRCICA and the Municipality of Muscat, comprising congresses, exhibitions, and awards.
