H.E. Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan Republic (Russian Federation) paid a visit to IRCICA Director General Prof. Dr. Halit Eren on 16 May 2019. President Minnikhanov and the accompanying delegation were received by the Director General and senior staff of IRCICA and guided to the library where they saw exhibitions arranged on the occasion: books from IRCICA library concerning Tatarstan and 19th-early 20th-century historical photographs of Tatar people selected from the Centre’s archives. Then, Prof. Eren guided President Minnikhanov to the Directorate General building, for a meeting and a glimpse at the calligraphy exhibition arranged there.
President Minnikhanov was in Turkey for official meetings on trade and mutual investments between Turkey and Tatarstan. The delegation included Mr. Albert Karimov, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Commerce of Tatarstan; Mr. Vasil Shaykraziev, Vice Prime Minister; Mr. Farid Abdulganiev, Minister of Economy; Ms. Irada Ayupova, Minister of Culture, and Mr. Radik Gimatdinov, Chief Advisor to the President.
