This book is a comprehensive encyclopedic work on the history of Turkish art and architecture, covering various branches of art such as carpet-making, the arts of the book including calligraphy, miniatures and binding, among others. The original book in English available from different publishers during the 1970s was translated into Arabic at IRCICA. A glossary of 600 art terms prepared by Dr. Ahmad Issa, the expert who translated the book, was added to the work.
