This catalogue of works in different fields of medicine written throughout the Ottoman world in the past centuries, covers nearly 1000 titles of original manuscripts and their copies (around 5000 manuscripts in total) located in the collections of 129 major libraries of Turkey.
Quotes from reviews published in international journals: “The scale of this undertaking is formidable … Researchers are much indebted to the compilers of this catalogue as a valuable and useful reference work.” L. I. Conrad, Bulletin of the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, 1988
“The catalogue is perhaps the best of its kind to come out in recent history. It marks the beginning of an era of critical assessment in the field of Islamic medical historiography.” M. A. Anees, Muslim World Book Review, 6, no. 1, 1985
