This is a union catalogue and bibliographic work about the official yearbooks of the Ottoman State called “Salname” (yearly record) or “Nevsal” (new year) which were issued between the years 1847 and 1922 (also during the Turkish Republic period for some time) and are preserved today in the archives of Istanbul. They were issued by the Ottoman State and the provinces (also as almanachs by some institutions and persons); they contain general and specific information on annual developments regarding all subjects that concerned the State and provincial administrations. The catalogue inventories 730 of these exceptionally valuable original sources of history, gives information and detailed descriptions on each.
