This work authored by Prof. Abdülkerim Özaydın and Prof. Mehmet Ersan and published by IRCICA is a comprehensive history of one the most influential states in Islamic history, the Anatolian Seljuks. The book covers the political developments, administrative system and institutions of the Anatolian Seljuks, their achievements in intellectual life, arts, architecture and urbanism, their struggles against threats that were directed to the Muslim world primarily by the Eastern Roman Empire and the Crusaders, and their relations with other states, examining all aspects of this history in nine chapters organized according to the periods of foundation, ascension, regression and dissolution of the state. Appearing simultaneously with the book The Great Seljuk Empire (1040-1157) (Political History, Organization and Administration) by Abdülkerim Özaydın in IRCICA’s same series, this publication is expected to constitute a valuable addition to history literature and a useful reference for researchers.
