This biographic and bibliographic publication is the fifth book in the History of Ottoman Scientific Literature Series. It covers the period between 1299-1923 corresponding to the the Ottoman period. It contains the authors and their works, including manuscript treatises, reprints, maps, etc., about military arts and sciences. The works of known authors are cited first, followed by anonymous or unknown authors’ works. The works are grouped according to the following subjects: Military laws and regulations; military literature; military geography; military arts and sciences; military engineering; health and hygiene; ballistics; aphorisms of famous commanders; guns; machine guns; tanks; infantry, the cavalry; marksmanship; maps and sketches; aviation-airplanes-balloons, etc. The main objective of this book is to present information on the literature of military arts and sciences during the Ottoman period for the benefit of the readers and researchers, as well as providing facilities for those who do research in this field and guide them in their studies.
